Back to School includes BYOD

Bring Your Own Device or BYOD (also referred to as Bring Your Own Technology) refers to the growing trend in schools and businesses that allow a person to use their personally-owned technology for education or work-related purposes.

While HCPS has allowed students to use their own technology in the past to connect to our network, we are gearing up for a wider implementation of personal technology use. Simply said, bringing a smart phone, tablet or laptop is okay, and in fact, is encouraged! HCPS wants students to use the tools that are most comfortable to them as they pursue their learning goals.

However, parents and students will need to know our guidelines. We have begun a list of FAQs to help answer some questions. We welcome any additional questions and will continue to add to our BYOD resources for parents and students.
