Welcome to Henry County Middle School. My name is Sandy Sumpter, and I am in my 8th year of teaching at HCMS. Nine years ago, I made the move to Kentucky from California, and I absolutely love it here! In California, I worked for 12 years as a Special Education Instructional Aide. I graduated from California State University Northridge with a Bachelors degree in Liberal Arts/Special Education. I also graduated from the University of Louisville with a Masters degree in Special Education. I recently graduated from the University of Kentucky with my Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired. I am the TVI for Henry County Public Schools.
I am married to my best friend, and I am the very proud mother of two wonderful sons. I love dancing and playing music, spending time outdoors, creating pottery, and doing other arts and crafts. I enjoy spending my days with the students and faculty here at HCPS. I hope to make a positive impact in all of my students' lives and show them that learning can be a fun and enjoyable lifelong experience.
