Chip is a 1995 graduate of George Rogers Clark High School, in Winchester, KY. Chip has a Bachelor of Art in Music Education (2000) and a Master of Music Degree (2002) from the University of Louisville, School of Music. Chip completed Principal Certification Level 1 training at the University of Louisville (2010).
Since 2003, Chip has taught band (concert, marching, jazz, chamber music, theater pit orchestra), music theory, arts & humanities, guitar, general music, string orchestra and literacy skills at both Henry County High School and Henry County Middle School.
Professionally, Chip was honored as the Kentucky Music Educators Association 5th District Middle School Teacher of the Year in 2008-09 and the KMEA 5th District High School Teacher of the Year in 2009-10.
Chip is married to Rev. Dr. Kate Anderson, Spiritual Life Coordinator at Cedar Lake, Inc, and CPE Supervisory candidate. They have two daughters, Georgia (12) and Shelby (9) and two mutt dogs, Smitty (13) and Sadie (<1).
When not teaching, Chip serves on the board of directors of Saint Matthews Associated Ministries, is an ordained deacon at Saint Matthews Baptisit Church and works in the Saint Matthews Community Garden which calloborates with Kentucky Refugee Ministries, St. MAM and Jefferson County Dare to Care.
Chip is also a free-lance musician working as a low brass musician (trombone, bass trombone, euphonium and tuba), guitarist (classical guitar) and bass guitarist (country, rock, bluegrass, and contempory Christian music).
