Hello, my name is Tracy James and I am a third grade teacher here at Campbellsburg Elementary. I have been teaching here for 7 years. I really enjoy teaching 3rd graders because they are still so loving but also very funny and imaginative. I recieved my teaching degree from the University of Louisville and my Master's Degree from the University of the Cumberlands.
My husband, Jerry, and I have a 6-year-old son, Camden, and 4-year-old son, Luke. I grew up in Henry County and graduated from HCHS. I love that I know a lot of the students and parents before they are even in my class.
My philosophy on teaching is that kids should be able to learn and have fun at the same time. Kids should not dread school, instead should look forward to coming and learning. I also believe that teaching kids to have a love for reading and learning is imperative. I didn't begin to love reading until adulthood and strive to help my kids learn that love now. I am always trying new things but pretty well stick to a set routine throughout the day. My classroom is designed around the ocean theme, so you will hear me make reference to the sea often. This gives the kids and I a sense of ownership when it comes to where we spend a lot of our time.
