Fairytale Production

IntoTheWoods

The family-friendly show is most suitable for children over eight years of age as some of the scenes may be hard for younger children to understand and follow, Sweeney said. Co-director Sharla Whitt said audience members will likely laugh, roll their eyes, maybe shed a tear, and take a moment to consider the lessons to be learned from the production.

“The story is really all about considering the consequences of our actions, the lessons to be learned from even the strangest of situations, the example we set for others, and the value of relationships we have with others,” Whitt said. “There are some real tender moments during the show that will melt your heart.  The audience may be surprised at who one of the princes actually kisses…and kisses…and kisses.”

Sweeney warns that not every character may experience a happy ending, but she can assure audience members will see and appreciate all the hard work our students have invested in the spring musical.

“Into the Woods” performances are scheduled for April 26 and 27 at 7 pm and April 28 at 3 pm in the HCHS John W. Smith Auditorium. Tickets prices range from $8 to $10 or adults and $5 to $8 for students. Tickets will be available at the door, but to ensure the seat you really want, purchase tickets ahead of time online at ticketpeak.com/HCPSfinearts.

“Come see this exciting show and support these incredibly talented students as they shine on our local stage,” Sweeney said.
