Homecoming Week!

Monday, Sept. 9, is sports day, Cats vs. Cards. Students are encouraged to wear either UK or UL attire and attend the home boys and girls soccer doubleheader against Owen County.

On Tuesday, Sept. 10, students can dress as their favorite hero or villain. No masks, face paint, bandanas, fake weapons or hats allowed, please.

Wednesday, Sept. 11, is class color day. Freshmen should wear green. Sophomores should wear red. Juniors wear blue, and seniors will wear black. Wednesday will also be the day of the homecoming parade, which will start and finish at New Castle Elementary School. The tentative start time is 6:30pm. After the parade, everyone is invited up to the HCHS football field for the annual powderpuff game, which pits classes against each other. Admission is just $1.

Music lovers will enjoy Thursday, Sept. 12. On this “music day,” students should dress reflective of their favorite music genre or artist. Again, no masks, face paint, hats or bandanas are allowed. Students will also earn points for attending the girls soccer game against Walton Verona at 6pm.

Finally, Friday, Sept. 13, is spirit day! Students should sport the HCHS garb that supports their favorite athletic, club or activity. There will be a rousing pep rally during fifth period, and the homecoming game against Owen County starts at 7:30pm at which the homecoming queen and king will be crowned.

Get in on the fun and help us Rock the Rebels for homecoming week!
