McCoun Recognized

Taking courses offered by WKU, their classmates are fellow Gatton Academy students and WKU undergraduate students. At the end of two years, Gatton Academy students will have earned between sixty and seventy-two college credit hours in addition to completing high school. Academy graduates may choose to stay at WKU or transfer to other universities to complete their bachelor's degrees.

McCoun, who was offered a scholarship from WKU, is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree at the university, which he will complete by the age of 20. He then will use the second two years of his four-year scholarship to earn a Master’s degree. Ultimately, McCoun hopes to pursue a doctorate and become a clinical psychologist.

“We are so proud of you and your accomplishments,” Price told McCoun. “It’s a demanding program that not every student finishes. So, we congratulate you and can’t wait to see what your future holds.”
